What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is about helping people live healthier, fuller lives. Chiropractors focus on the nervous system and adjust the vertebral column to help the nervous system function more efficiently. According to Gray's Anatomy, the nervous system is the master system in the body which controls and coordinates all other systems such as the respiratory, circulatory, hormonal, digestive, muscular, and immune systems.
So why do chiropractors focus on the nervous system? Because we have discovered that your health is dependent upon a few basic principles.
- Your body is an incredible self-healing organism. It is in a constant state of change and repair that works on a very exact program.
- Your nervous system is what runs the program. It acts as the computer central command system of the body. If the nervous system is allowed to communicate with every organ, tissue, and cell of the body, literally down to the last nook and cranny of the body like it is designed to do, you should experience the best health you have ever had and feel better than you have ever felt.
This is what we call normal.
- If there is an interruption in the nerve function, then the nervous system cannot do what it is designed to do which is to run the body. As such, your body starts to experience break downs and does not perform its normal functions in a healthy and consistent manner.
- Dr. Staggs' job is to determine why your body is not functioning properly and figure out how to restore the normal law and order to your body. Think of him as the new sheriff in town.
